Elementor vs Beaver Builder

In this post I’m going to put Elementor vs Beaver Builder to the test.

So if you’re looking for a DEEP comparison of these two popular page building tools, you’ve come to the right place.

Let’s do this!

Are you looking for easy and cheap ways to design your website?

Most business owners think that they need a specialized front end developer to build their website, but this is not always true.

If there are business owners passionate about web development, learning how to use Elementor or Beaver Builder is just a matter of time.

They are both pretty intuitive and they can help anyone build their own website without learning how to code, for example.

The problem with technology nowadays is that there are a lot of options to choose from.

While some people are very enthusiastic about this, more options mean a more difficult decision to make.

There are a lot of apps, widgets, or plug-ins that can make the task of building a website easier.

However, if someone does not have a lot of knowledge on the subject, how will they be going to make a decision?

Elementor and Beaver Builder are two of the most popular choices when it comes to building a website using WordPress.

And they are popular mostly among people that want to design their website themselves.

There are a few tools everyone can benefit from, both in their remote working and website building.

When building a website, you need to take care of its design, the way you match the text with the photos, colors, buttons, and how intuitive is to be used by users.

But, why is it so important to choose a one-page builder and stick to it?

Eventually, technology offers many possibilities and you should not restrict yourself to using only one page builder.

This is what many people would think, but choosing only one page builder comes with advantages.

What would then happen if you choose to use, for example, Elementor and then decide to switch to Beaver Builder?

Even though these plug-ins meet kind of the same needs, such as building a website, they are different.

And switching from one to another will keep your information, but the design will be messy.

So, it is kind of starting from scratch to build another website

This is time-consuming and it can also lead to negative intense feelings, such as anger and frustration.

Because after you have invested so many resources, you find out that you have to do it again.

Choosing to settle with one page builder is thus important to prevent resource losses and re-building your own website.

So, when it comes to Beaver Builder vs Elementor, which one is the most suited to you?

When making such an important choice, you need to look at functionality, interface, templates, pricing, and customization possibilities.

So, what is a page builder?

How can it help you build your own website? And which one is better from Elementor and Beaver Builder?

Here is a thorough analysis of these two plug-ins and the advantages and disadvantages of choosing one over the other.

Why Choose a Page Builder?

Even though some people might think that choosing a page builder means that they do not need to hire a web developer, this is not true.

Indeed, page builders such as Elementor and Beaver Builder can help anyone, no matter their knowledge on the subject, to craft a website.

However, the power of a web developer cannot be underestimated, as you need a professional human touch to customize the website.

But to start, page builders offer the necessary package to anyone who wants to enroll in this journey.

A page builder comes with many plug-ins already installed, making your tasks even easier.

If you decide to not use a page builder, you will need to install multiple plug-ins for social media buttons, grids, galleries, or contact forms.

Choosing to install multiple plug-ins is difficult because this process comes with:

  • Documenting which plug-in is the best choice
  • Installing and paying for it
  • The maintenance work

And keep in mind that these apply to every plug-in installed, meaning that in the end, you might have too much to handle.

This is why a page builder is both cheap and easy to manage.

So, let’s take a look at the main functionalities these two-page builders have.

1. Interface

The interface is one of the most important functionalities.

Because if you do not have so much knowledge on web design or how to build a website, you will want to choose a tool that is intuitive to use.

Needing to learn how to use specific tools might decrease the motivational level and leave you with the impression that you have so much to learn.

This is not the case with Beaver Builder and Elementor.

Here are some of the characteristics of their interface that might be of help to you.

  • The screen is divided into two: the elements page and the sneak peek of your design.
  • You can easily add elements, such as columns, headings, videos, buttons, and many more by using the sidebar and drag and drop.
  • You can edit the text inline, so you need to only select the text box and start typing.
  • You have access to the editing history

Beaver Builder:

  • What you see here is pretty different as the preview tab is on the full window and you can add new elements by clicking the plus button.
  • You can easily add elements by drag and drop.
  • Editing of elements can be made in a popup box.
  • Even though until not long ago Beaver Builder did not allow to edit fields directly, now this feature is available and ready to be used

So, which one is best?

They kind of offer the same functionalities and both are pretty intuitive to use.

However, Elementor might be slightly more user-friendly, but this depends on the needs and expectations of each user.

2. Templates

When it comes to the number of templates these two-page builders offer to their users, there are important differences

Pages offer you full-page design, while blocks offer block design. You have the freedom of combining multiple block designs and then save the result as your own template you can use later.

Of course, if you sign up for Elementor Pro, you will have access to a large library of page templates.

On the other hand, you will not have access to any templates on Beaver Builder if you choose the free form.

However, if you decide to pay for Beaver Building Pro, you can choose from a wide variety of templates for landing and content pages.

And if you decide to opt for building a page template from many block templates, this is possible only by installing a plug-in, such as the row sections.

3. Pricing

When it comes to pricing, there are some differences between these two page-builders.

Both of them have the free and Pro version, however, the prices and functionalities offered differ.

Elementor offers more flexibility in the free version. You can unlock its unlimited library of templates and not only with one of the Elementor’s Pro plans:

  • Personal – if you want to build only one website, this one is the right one for you and it costs $49 per year.
  • Plus – this is for people that want to build up to 3 websites – it costs $99 per year.
  • Expert – you can build up to 1000 websites – it costs $199 per year.

On the contrary, Beaver Builder offers limited possibilities with its free version.

They also have three premium plans; however, they do not restrict the number of websites you can build with their page builder.

Instead, depending on what plan you choose, you will have access to different libraries or functionalities.

  • Standard – $99 per year.
  • Pro – $199 per year.
  • Agency – $399 per year.

And the Beaver Themer is an additional $147 fee.

4. Page Speed

In the world we live in today when everything is fast-paced and the lack of time describes this era, it is important to have your website function properly.

Elementor and Beaver Builder are two of the page-builders you can use.

When looking at the page speed tested with Pingdom, Beaver Builder has the slowest page load time, from a group of five page builders (665 milliseconds).

At the same time, Elementor has the highest database query time (0.012 seconds). However, these differences are slight and noticeable only when tested for them.

5. Custom Modules

While Beaver Builder calls them modules, Elementor calls them widgets, but they are the same thing.

There are some restrictions, depending on the version you opt for.

For example, Elementor offers approximately 30 widgets in the free versions (which include text, columns, rows, images, and many more), and over 50 widgets for premium users.

Even though Beaver Builder has different terminology for them, widgets or modules as they call them are limited for the free version.

You have up to 6 modules in the free version and 50 modules for the paid versions.

Both page builders allow you to use third-party plug-ins to extend the number of widgets or modules available.

6. Security

The security of a website is very important, especially in this era where cyberattacks have become more frequent.

Even though Elementor had a major security problem in the past when it allowed users to log-in and edit the website, this problem is now solved.

And even though Beaver Builder was more constant in terms of security, this does not mean that Elementor is not secure enough.

Both their teams are continuously working on improving them.

7. Customer Support

When it comes to customer support, there are some slight differences between these two.

While the customer support team at Beaver Builder was responsive, willing to help, and offered fast support and solutions, this was not the case with Elementor.

The customer service at Elementor still has a few things to learn and more resources to invest to solve complex issues.

8. Gutenberg and Divi

Even though Elementor and Beaver Builder are some of the most popular choices among WordPress users, other page builders deserve a mention.

Gutenberg is the new default WordPress page editor which offers kind of the same features as the free version of these two.

So, if you want access to basic elements or widgets, Gutenberg can do the job.

Divi Editor is another choice on the market. It offers kind of the same features, only its interface is not so user-friendly.

So, it may take you more time to understand how to properly use it. It allows inline and visual editing, meeting most of the users’ needs.

Which is The Best Page Builder?

Well, this is up to you.

Both of these offer nice and high-quality features with a user-friendly interface.

Depending on how much you are willing to pay for the pro version or on how many websites you want to build, Elementor and Page Builder are two of the greatest.

What do you think?

Which one would you choose to build your website?
